The Lakeside High School Orchestra is an important part of the school’s fine arts community. Alongside band, chorus, and other performing arts ensembles, the orchestra provides students with opportunities to grow as musicians, collaborate with their peers, and express themselves through music.

The program includes three ensembles: Intermediate Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra, and Mastery Orchestra. These groups support students at different stages of musical development, from strengthening foundational skills to performing more advanced and challenging repertoire.

Throughout the school year, Lakeside orchestras perform in concerts, festivals, school events, and community programs. These experiences help students build confidence, develop strong ensemble skills, and contribute to a vibrant and supportive music culture.

 

The orchestra program emphasizes technical development, musical understanding, teamwork, and expressive performance. Students explore a wide range of repertoire, including classical, contemporary, and culturally diverse works. They are encouraged to view music not only as a school activity, but also as a lifelong source of creativity, connection, and enjoyment.
